Hi there,

Currently I am using Word 2003 with the latest service packs (and the same
thing happens in Word 2002)

The problem is that when a document becomes large, I find that the Word is
anticipating what I am doing.

For example: I am in a document and I select a certain area and I wish to
just change the highlighted area to bold for example, the whole documents
becomes bold.

This has happened in several different computers with Word so I can safely
rule out problem with the computer itself or the operating system.

Is there a setting that is not turned off that is causing this.

Any good advise would be graciously accepted.

Kindest regards

Article looks feasible and I will give it a try.

Thank you.

Or....you could just select CTRL + Z, then the only text that is bolded is
the text you selected.

That is a workaround, not a solution, and becomes very burdensome. Given
that a solution is simple, why settle for a burdensome workaround.
