Has any one had problems with the bottom margin parameter default?  I would
like to use a smaller margin than 0.46" but that appears to be the default.
Could it be the computer itself?

The margin settings come from your printer driver, which enforces a finite
unprintable area. This is usually larger for the trailing edge (bottom of
portrait and one side of landscape) and also usually larger for inkjet
printers than for laser.
