What happened to my document when I hit the e-mail button?

When I hit the e-mail button (while in a word document) it reformatted my
document to where the horizontal ruler now only uses 3/4 of my page when I am
looking at it in print layout view.  When I print the document it only uses
the top left corner of the paper like my page is only 5x7 now.  How do I
change it back?

Have you checked File/Page Setup to see whether the paper size or margins have
been changed? If they have, can you reset them there? Or has "Pages per sheet"
been set in File/Print dialog box?
