Hi. I create software docs and I'm cringing over here trying to use the
templates in Word. Every time I tweak something up pops a new style. And when
I open someone elses document and attach my template (uncheck automatically
update...), there may be 10 times more styles in my doc than should be. How
do I avoid Word creating it's own styles and force it to use the ones I
create?

I don't remember previous versions of Word acting up like this.

On the Edit tab of Tools | Options, clear the check box for "Keep track of
