I have a doc with a bunch of pictures that have been resized.  I have new
pictures to replace the old ones and I want to paste over the old ones
keeping the destination picture format.

Thank you

Word includes no functionality to support this, I'm afraid.

If you had inserted these pictures into table cells or frames (from the
Forms toolbar) with exact dimensions, the pictures would size to those
dimensions. That's the closest you can get to forcing pictures to have a
certain size when inserting.

You could try drawing a FRAME around the pictures you already have, then
delete the pictures and insert the new one.
