I have a business letterhead set up which is fine normally. However I have
just had to print a 4 page document & the header appears on all pages. I
tried the page setup & ticked the box for a different header on page 1, but
that simply removed my business heading from page 1.

Is there some way I can suppress the header after page 1?

You need to put the letterhead in the First Page Header instead of the
Header. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm

Take a look at: How to set up letterhead or some other document where you
want one header on the first page and a different header on other pages.
http://www.addbalance.com/word/headersfooters.htm This gives step-by-step
instructions. (It also has the following links)
