Hi,
I am using MS WORD 2003. I made following chnages to Normal.dot
- changed the font size
- Changed the font type.
- Changed the top margin (File...Page Setup...change margin and click
on Default then clicked on Yes to apply changes on Normal.dot)
- Changed the Left margin. (same as above)
Now any time I open WORD, the new document does show changed font size
and type as well as Left margin. However the Top margin change is not
being shown up. If I go to Normal.dot, c:\doc &
settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates and open it
from there, it does show the changed Top margin.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe what you need to do is select Options from the Tools menu and then go
to the View tab and check the box against "Show whitespace at top of
document" in the Print and Weblayout section of the dialog.

It should be under Print and Layout Options  of the Tools | Options. However,
as long as you are in Print Layout, iif you move the mouse to the top edge of
the page it should change to a double pointed arrow. (You should also get a
tool tip to show white space.) Click and you should now see the white space.
Hope this helps.
