I am using Word 2002 on Win XP.
I am trying to figure out how to insert "notes" into a training document I
am working on. Ideally the note would be formatted such that in there would
be a line across the page both above and below the note. Then between those
lines, there would be a specific icon in the left margin. with the actual
text of the note aligned with the rest of the document's BodyText.
Ideally I could make one or more styles to apply to the text to make all of
this happen....but I don't have a clue how :-)
I read a few other posts regarding creating 2 columns on only part of the
page and also about "margin text" using Frames or Textboxes.
If anyone can please help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
Paul
It's a little hard to visualize from your description; but as far as I
understand it, why not use a table? Border top and bottom, icon in column 1,
text in column 2. Once you've got it right, select the whole thing and
define as an autotext entry.

Jezebel,
Thanks for responding...I thought it might be hard to visualize. Your idea
of a table would work fine. I am not sure how Autotext works, so I need to
read a little about that to see if it would do what I am after.
Thanks again for the idea

For "everything" about AutoText, see
