Auto Correct & Spacing Issues in Microsoft Word 2003

Trying to type a Policy Mannual,  It is in outline form but not "True
Outline".  Need to have the freedom to type document without Word trying to
autocorrect my spacing & outline letters.  Is there a way to turn off all
autocorrect features or is there an easier way?
