Since upgrading to Windows XP I find that the printing of
labels using the standard Wrd Labels templates, such as
Avery L163,no longer work. They run over onto a second
page. The only way I have found so far is to manually
alter the size of each cell and then save it as a
template, but even that does not work very well as the
bottom 2 labels will only take 4 lines. Has anyone any
ideas please?

This may not be directly attributable to the OS except insofar as you
acquired a new printer driver when you upgraded, and that driver may have a
larger unprintable area. The source of the problem is often that you have
added a header or footer to Normal.dot. Even if this is empty, the empty
paragraph can cause labels to be misaligned or to run over to the next page.
If you're using the New Document option in the Labels dialog, go to Page
Setup and set the header and footer margins to 0" and see if that helps.

If you want to avoid the standard templates in Word, there's a version of
the Avery label wizard especially for Office XP. I have added it to Word
2002 and it works just fine. It's on the Avery website somewhere - I don't
know if this would help you, but it's worth a go. You should be able to find
it OK, but if you're stuck I can attach it to an email if you want to give
me your email address. If you post your address in the newsgroup, I would
alter it in some obvious way so the spam merchants can't pick it up.
