When I use Office XP, Word, I print to fax and get this
error "The directory service is not available."

I have DSL service with a wireless network. In the past I
faxed using a dial-up modem on a previous computer, using
WinFax Lite. I installed WinFax Lite on this WinXP Pro
computer, and I installed another fax program, ElectraSoft
NT Print to Fax, and neither of them work.

I somehow think this has something to do with the
DSL/network, but I have no idea what to do to make this
work. I do have a fax modem in the computer.

Thanks.

Connect the fax/modem to a telephone line. Use that to send your faxes the
same way you did before. XP has a fax client. You can install and use that.

You cannot use a DSL to send a fax unless you connect through the Internet
to a fax service. They will send your faxes on a fee-for-service basis.
