I have an Epson stylus photo 720 printer. Since upgrading
to XP and Word 2002, the colours are not printing. Nozzle
cleaning etc has not helped.
Any suggestions, anybody? Thanks
From the Start menu in Windows, go to Settings > Printers and Faxes,
right-click the Epson icon, and select Properties. One of the tabs in that
dialog has a button to print a test page. Does the test page show the
colours? If not, the problem is in the printer -- keep running cleaning
cycles until it works, or send the unit back to Epson for service.
If the test page works, can you print colours properly from other
applications, such as Paint? If not, try removing and reinstalling the
printer driver.

It's possible that the upgrade changed a default setting in the printer
driver to "black only".
Go to Start > Printers and Faxes, right-click on your printer and choose
Properties. Then check all settings for something that might prevent color
printing.
I have a similar issue with an older Okidata printer I own. It turns
out that the WinXP-supplied printer driver doesn't work properly with my
printer, the Okidata-supplied printer driver doesn't work with WinXP,
and Okidata had plans to update their driver to work with XP because
they don't make this printer anymore. I had to buy a new printer.
