We have two computers in our office bought at the same
time.  Both have Microsoft Office.  Both are using Normal
template with times roman 11 font.
However, we use clear boxes and filled boxes for marking
yes and no.  The boxes on one machine come out clear and
filled.  When openning the same document on the other
machine the boxes have check marks in them and print that
way also.

Checkboxes are not part of Times Roman, but part of a font like Symbol or
Wingdings -- by the sounds of it, this font is different on your two
machines. Go to Insert > Symbol and check.

Hi Fran,

To save you the trouble of looking it up:
The empty and filled boxes are from "Wingding 2", and that font is
obviously not installed on one of your machines.

Regards,
Klaus

That's the most common, Klaus, but not the only possiblity. Plain WingDings
also has a crossed and a ticked checkbox, and if one of the machines has
installed any software from Corel or Adobe Creative, there are truly dozens
of other possibilities.

I wasn't guessing   :-)
Fran's font has filled and empty boxes with codes 61602 and 61603.
It's Wingdings2, or a 100% clone I have never heard of.

Regards,
Klaus
