Word 2003: upward arrow instead bullet point, copyright symbol

Hi

I've been using Word 2003 for over a year and am fairly happy with it.

I have started playing around with Powerpoint also, and now, if I open Word
2003 documents, what used to be round bulet points is replaced by arrows
poiting upwards - not visually very stunning - and copyright symbols are
replaced by a bold arrow pointing upwards also.

How do I get Word 2003 to assign the fonts properly?

TIA

You'll find Word less prone to this if you use specific bulleted styles
(with the style linked to the bullet format) instead of applying bullets to
other styles. When you do the latter, you get whatever bullet happens to be
the default for a given pane in the List Gallery. It also helps to reset
every pane in the List Gallery from time to time.
