I am trying to print out a section of part roman numbered, part arabic
numbered pages in Word. I have many documents with the first section
numbered I, II, III, IV, V etc, a section break, then normal numbering
starting at 1, 2, 3...
I need to print from III to 2 (for example) and have tried many methods to
do this - can't seem to do so (tried putting III-2 in but it did not take).
Appreciate help as this must be a problem for others.

The Print dialog doesn't understand roman numerals, but it does take a
page number and section number together.
To print from page 3 (that is, III) in section 1 to page 2 in section
2, enter this in the Pages box:
p3s1-p2s2
This is explained in greater detail at

When you print, the page numbers are absolute from teh beginning of
the document (as shown in the toolbar at the bottom of word).
Style, starting point, etc., are cosmetic, part of the header/footer.
