Newbie to understanding fonts here.

In character map, for example, the exclamation point has a Unicode character
set of U+0021. Why would I want to know that sequence? Under what
circumstances would that sequence be useful? How would I use it?

Thanks much,

Ma

Full-bore Unicode fonts go far beyond the 4-decimal-digit alt-key combinations
to get non-keyboardable characters.

In MSWord (and other Office 2000 and up products), to enter the high-end Unicode
characters, type the 4-hex-digit code that follows the U, and follow that
immediately by Alt+X.  This would also work for 0021, but pressing the ! on the
keyboard is easier :)

Someone in another forum said that this information was well-hidden - I first
found it by an extensive net search; but I just found it in MSWord Help by
simply searching for the word "Unicode"!
