I have unistalled some fonts yet they still appear in the fonts list in Word and Excel. These fonts do not show up in non-Microsoft programs. Is there a fix? Have you restarted Windows? Do you see these fonts only in documents in which they were used? Word will display the name of the font used in selected text even though the font is unavailable (and another font will be substituted for display and printing purposes).  SignatureSuzanne S. The fonts are true type fonts. Their name is still there and they default to Arial if you try to print them. I want to clean the font list so that only installed fonts show up. As I mentioned, this problem only happens in Office. All other programs that use fonts show only the fonts that are actually in the font directory. You might try changing the active printer, then changing back (for example, switch to a Generic-Text Only printer). Also, are the names in the full list or only in the MRU list? SignatureSuzanne S. If the latter, they could be PostScript fonts (not always listed in the Fonts folder) or printer-resident fonts. SignatureSuzanne S.
