Word prints 1 copy only

Word 2002 sp3. file/print/ number of copies. When greater than 1 copy
selected only 1 copy is printed. Excel prints ok as does notepad so printer
is ok. Also before upgrade office 97 word printed ok. Have  updated printer
drivers,have tried collate on/off , printing in background on/off, spooling
on/off. Have googled for info most answers relate to printer drivers but
have checked and as notepad , excel respond ok would seem to be word
problem. any ideas out there much appreciated
