I am using the full student version of Office 2007. I notice that "Perpetua"
is not in my list of fonts as it was in Office XP. It still recognizes the
font in documents but if I want to use the font I must go through the process
of cutting/pasting and retyping. Is this an error in my font library or Does
Office 2007 NOT include "Perpetua"?

Here is the list of fonts that can be installed with Office 2007. It
DOES include six Perpetua fonts.  When you installed the suite, you
may have selected options that prevented their installation.

You should be able to run Setup again with the "modify installation"
option.

Hmmm... tried "modify installation" with no success then "repair
installation" with no success. There are still missing fonts including all
perpetua fonts. Any further advice?

When you get to the option to Modify or Change   Add Remove features,
check the menu for Shared Features    Fonts     Additional...   and
elect to run from your computer.

Still no luck. I tried a full reinstall also to no avail. Are the fonts
available for me to install in the font library manually?

Yes.  On Office 2007 CD1

Folder:  Pror.WW
  File:  ProrWW.cab

The six Perpetua files are named
         PER_____.ttf
         PERB____.ttf
         PERBI___.ttf
         PERI____.ttf
         PERTIBD.ttf
         PERTILI.ttf

In Windows Explorer, you should be able to double-click on the cab
file to open it, and then drag the files you want to another folder.

I have a single DVD Office Standard 2007 and it does not contain the folder
you mention. I did find some true type fonts on the disc however but not the
six perpetua fonts you list. I found the fonts in
folder: Standardr.WW
file: stdr.WW

Any further suggestion?

Sounds like those fonts aren't in the Student version edition :(

Or you can look in all the cab files on the disk .. but I don't think
you'll find them.  You might try writing to MS and pleading ..

Perpetua is available from may other foundries, and some equivalent
fonts are:

 Lapidary 333  (Bitstream)
 Compleat    (WSI/IMSI/SSK/SSI - discredited clones)
 Peru       (Primafonts)
 P700 Roman    (Softmaker)
 Persistent  (Softmaker)
 Bronte    (SWFTE)

I have more informaion.

I am having the same problem with a different font (Copperplate Gothic).  I
have three machines running MS Office Home and Student 2007 - Word.  One has
both problem fonts (Perpetua and C.G.) and about 4x as many fonts overall.
The other two have the paired down list without these two fonts.

Two of these three computers were loaded with the DVD.  Only one of the two
has these fonts.  The two computers are a notebook running Vista x86 Home
Premium and a desktop running Vista x64 Ultimate.  Only the notebook has
these fonts.

The third computer is runing XP MCE 2005 with the downloaded trial version
of Office Home and Student 2007.  It does not have these fonts.

So, in at least one case, the Student version does support these fonts.

Any luck finding where the divergence is?
