My macros use English style names. If I wanted to globalize, would it be a
good strategy to define my suite of styles using the built-in styles, then
use the enumeration for those styles?
Or would it be just as effective to insist on including a two-letter code as
an alias in style names, then using that code in macros?

This will always work and there is nothing a user can do to break this
(except not use the style they are supposed to, of course! <eg>

Looks good in theory, but users could make the whole thing fall apart by
mismanaging the aliases.
