To be honest I'm not sure if I'm posting at the right section...if not then
I'm soooo sorry. I would just like to ask how can I make a macro wherein if I
press a certain keyboard shortcut, a dialog box would pop up asking me to
input an abbreviation then it would find from the set/table of abbreviations
and meanings that I have composed and then insert the corresponding meaning
of that abbreviation to the document I'm working on. Although I'm not sure if
this is at all possible but if it is any help or instructions will be greatly
appreciated. I tried searching the database for any help regarding this but I
can’t seem to find any, if there is a thread that is remotely similar to this
please let me know. Thank you again.

I have used the autocorrect feature for this to good effect

I did think about the autocorrect option but if I'm not mistaken the
autocorrect dictionary applies to all documents that you open and I just need
certain sets of abbreviations to apply to certain documents. If I use the
autocorrect option chances are there will be conflicting abbreviations. I
have encountered plenty of abbreviations that are spelled as “ARE” or “ITS”,
that’s why I don’t think it to be that helpful in this case. But thank you
for the input greatly appreciated.

Another possibility is to use autotexts, which are associated with the
document's template. All the user needs to do is type the abbreviation then
press F3 for Word to replace the abbreviation by the autotext. As long as
you can always associate the template you need with the document you need,
I'd say that's quite an easy way to go, although there could be
"interference" from autotext entries in normal.dot.
