I have installed a Word template that is causing havoc with my system. I
used System Restore to get rid of the offending template but I really need
to install the template.

Is there a way that I can track what files, programs and/or registry entries
have been changed when the template is installed. If I can figure out what
is being changed, maybe I can get the template to work properly.

From where did you get the template? The originator of it would be the best
person to tell you what you are asking for, but it sounds like malware to
me.
