Hi,
One of our users is creating new Word Templates.

She is adding new fields and would like the fields that she adds to be
available
for all templates, not just the new one that she created.

We tried adding a new field in the normal.dot template, but it was not
saved.

Can someone tell me how she can add a field and have it available for
all new Word files?

Thanks,

Hi Sandy M

If you really want to put a field in normal.dot so that it appears in every
document you create, then edit normal.dot as described here:
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm

However, I very much doubt that this is the answer to the user's real
business need. Can you tell us what kinds of fields these are, and what the
business problem is that you're trying to solve. There is almost certainly a
better way than editing normal.dot. And, let us know what version of Word
you have.

Hope this helps.
