Slow network saves

Hello,

I posted a similar query to this to docmanagement before I found this
group. Sorry for the repeat query.

My problem is with saving word documents over a network - it takes
about 45 seconds, even for tiny documents with nothing in them. I
suffer no delay closing the document. I have no delay saving to my
local drive, there is no problem accessing the file over the network,
other applications do not stop for so long when I save.

I've read things about outlook journaling but as far as I can tell I
have it set to not journal anything. I have norton installed, but
disabling it does not speed things up at all.

is there anything I can do? I know that it wasn't always this slow.
Something has changed but I don't know what.

regards
Ben
