Hi all,

I have just reinstalled Office 2000 professional after
having to crash my PC and all features work except for
Word.   When I open Word i get the message :
'feature is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Please state an alternative path to folder with the
installation package 'data.msi' on it.  It suggest the
folder C:\CABS\W2K\data.msi but there is no link and Word
closes down!!!! help!! anyone?

Hi
when you installed Office 2000 again, the option for Word was probably left
to the "instll on first use" option.

This is why Office attempts to locate the installation msi files.

Check out the KB article 256896 for more details.
