I've recently networked my laptop at home. I've opened
files both locally and on the other PC on the LAN. Now
when I open Word and I'm not connected to the network, my
system crashes. The error message flashes by so quickly
that I can't begin to read it or record it.
If I then reconnect to the LAN, I can open Word without
any problems at all.
Note - the very same thing happens with Outlook once I try
to read or send e-mail. I assume this is because Word is
the editor for e-mail in Outlook.

Hi Rich,
I think this is something to do with having a network printer as the default
printer under Word.
Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.
Hope this helps
