Can a single copy be run on two machines (home desktop &
portable laptop) when only one machine will be in use at
a time?

If not, what would be a good Office suite to switch over
and start using as if I can't do something as simple and
necessary as that then I certainly don't want to use
Microsoft anymore...

Thanks in advance!

If I am not mistaken according to the license agreement
for say office 2k you can install it on a personal system
ie Desktop and one laptop for that one license only.
