Here's the thing: I recently upgraded my system to Windows
XP and all seemed fine.  Something went wrong with the hard
drive and I had to reinstall it.  Everything is back to
normal EXCEPT for the Word program.  I try to install the
2000 version except that I can't find the COA and cannot
proceed with setup.  Is there any way I can recover my old
Word Program?

If you have a boxed retail copy of Microsoft Word or Office you can use the
phone numbers at http://microsoft.com/worldwide (800-360-7561 in the u.s.)
To get a replacement key. If it was pre-installed on the PC when it was
purchased, it's an oem copy of the software and you will have to contact the
pc supplier for a replacement.
