fitting a wide table on a vertical page

Hi,
I think there is a simple solution but I cant find any so I post here!

I have a large table, like 50 rows and 40 cols, which I want to put into
a document, to give an overview of my arguments I developed before. The
text is to be printed in ordinary A4 format. So, to solve the tricky
problem I have 2 ideas (but none worked up to now):

1/ I rotate the table produced in Excel and copy & paste it. But how to
rotate the copied table?

2/ I paste the table as an image and rotate it. This reduces its
readibility but ... I do not see how to rotate. There are no handles.

BTW: what would you use as image format so that the table can easily be
read, even when small?

For solution #1, see

For solution #2, the picture must be wrapped (wrapping set to other than In
Line With Text) before you can rotate it.
