I would like to create more than one table of contents with independent
numbering in one Word document (as in with the start of each new table of
contents the numbers start back at the first, e.g, 1 or A, instead of
continuing from the numbering of the previous table of contents). I am using
field codes to choose the headings included in the TOCs. I would like to
create a table of contents for my tables, numbered from 1 onward. Then, I
would like to create a table of contents for my appendices, numbered from A
onward. So far, Word continues from Table 1-14 of my first table of contents
to Appendices 15-18 in my second and I would like the second to be Appendices
1-4 or A-D. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

Does anyone know how to do that?

The TOC is not the issue here, but the numbering of the items themselves.
