i am trying to paste an excel table into a word
document.  it either pastes as a nested table (all in one
cell) or the formatting is so mixed up i can't match it
to my template.  i have tried paste special, paste
unformatted.  i unchecked smart tags.  i'm using 2000.

Hi Luci,

Try pasting the excel worksheet directly into the body of the Word document,
instead of pasting it into a table.

As well, you'll probably get the best results if you compose the entire
'table' in a single Excel Worksheet before pasting - getting a pasted Excel
worksheet to line up with a Word table could be quite difficult.

Cheers
