How do I set a decimal tab within a table?  I need to align a column
containing prices.  I am using Microsoft Office 2003 for Word - 60-Day Trial
Version.

A decimal tab is preset into table cells. Press Ctrl-Tab to insert a tab
character before your number. http://addbalance.com/usersguide/tables.htm

I'm not sure where you got this curious idea, which is actually rather
backwards. If you press Ctrl+Tab in a table cell, you will tab to the first
default tab stop (0.5"). But if you set a decimal tab stop in the cell, you
do not need to insert a tab character, as Left-aligned text will jump to it
automatically.

I was mistaken. I tested it, but apparently my test table was set up so that
it appeared I was getting a decimal tab. Sorry.

You can set a decimal tab in a table cell the same way you set it anywhere
else, either using the ruler or through the Tabs dialog; the difference is
that you do not need to press Ctrl+Tab to align numbers at the tab. For
more, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/SettingTabs.htm.
