Using a table in a header or footer always inserts a paragraph return after the table. This has the effect of making the header and footer taller (bigger) than defined. Is there any way to leave the table but remove the following paragraph mark? No. A table is always followed by a paragraph mark. But, you can format that paragraph mark to be Hidden, or to be 1 point with a line spacing set to exactly 1 point, so it will be practically invisible, especially if it is hidden as well.
