Hello

I am having a problem in Word 2000(9.0.4402 SR-1).
My Operating System is Windows XP

My Problem is that the Field for Table Number at the Top
of the Table is not getting updated even if i right click
on the Field and select the option of update field.

While i am doing this the Update field for the Table
Number does become gray background but it does not update
the table Number.

I have a lot of Tables in my Document and after editing
the document i have faced this problem.

Can you please let me know about what settings i should
check to make the Table number Field to get updated.

Table numbering, as well as Figure and Equation numbering, use
SEQ fields. There are some things that could cause these not to
update properly:

1. Are you tracking changes? You need to Accept All changes, and
then you can update the SEQ fields.

2. Make sure that none of the fields are formatted with hidden
text.

If none of the above helps, display field codes, for example, by
pressing ALT+F9, and see if there are any differences between
them. The structure of a SEQ field is as follows:

{ SEQ sequencename [switches] }

Make sure all fields referring to table numbers look the same.
