I need to offer a dropdown that lists the states in the US - how can I
achieve this if the dropdown can only handle 25 entries?  Any suggestions are
greatly appreciated.

I need to offer the dropdown in a document - not a userform - built in code...

Perhaps you misunderstood the significance of the term 'workaround' in the
KB article...

If Microsoft offers an article on one of its technical site to explain a
complicated scheme as a workaround to the fact that you cannot have more
that 25 items in a document formfield dropdown, then it probably means that
it canot be done. At least, I (and evidently Microsoftas well) do not know
how to do it.

Sorry to have bothered you.  I won't post my questions here anymore.

You did not bother me.
It is not necessary to react as if you had been victimized.

You asked a question regarding a problem you were facing, I gladly and
promptly referred you to a solution offered by Microsoft itself (Also, in
that reference, it plainly states that there is a limit of 25 items and you
have to use a workaround), you came back seemingly ignoring the reference
from Microsoft and stating you still wanted to make it work in a way that is
not possible.

Sorry, but what am I supposed to say? I just reiterated that as far as I
know this is the only solution known to me and Microsoft (I did not invent
this solution, I merely use it).

Sorry to have ruffled your feathers... but I offered help, was ignored and I
am the brute?

Please, do come back with more questions whenever you want, do not let me
stop you!
I may even help you!

I think you may be flogging a dead horse here ...

Sadly, the presumption of even minimal intelligence on the part of posters
often proves to be a foolishness,
