'no' and 'yes' were the answers to your questions. The digital signatures in
Word documents are not accessible from VBA, and for obvious security reasons
are not intended to be manipulated other than through Word security.

I have also tried to get the VBA digital signature window to show up through
code (I assume that is what you mean), or someway to automate signing of a
template/document. It does not seem to be possible. In the build process for
my templates, at the end I just pop up a message box saying to open up VBA,
go to the TOOLS menu, etc.
