FTP access

I'm developing a web application which will open, edit and save documents
(from within Word). (Using Word XP).

My question: will Word allow an authenticated user to open a document from
an FTP directory, and then later save it back under the same name to the same
directory (overwriting the file which was opened)?

Thanks!

Yes, you can do that.

In the File > Open dialog, pull down the Look In dropdown. At the
bottom of the list is "Add/Modify FTP Locations". Use that to enter
the address, user name, and password for the FTP site.

After that, the FTP folder will behave like any local folder, except
that you'll be required to enter the password on the first access
during each session.
