I'm developing a web application which will open, edit and save documents (from within Word). (Using Word XP). My question: will Word allow an authenticated user to open a document from an FTP directory, and then later save it back under the same name to the same directory (overwriting the file which was opened)? In the File > Open dialog, pull down the Look In dropdown. At the bottom of the list is "Add/Modify FTP Locations". Use that to enter the address, user name, and password for the FTP site.
