I'm trying to find where the Standard toolbar that ships with Word is stored
by Word.  For some reason it's not to be found on some of our machines but is
available on others.  I've looked in a freshly created bog standard
Normal.dot and it's not there... any ideas on anyplace else I should look?
Many thanks...

Thanks - the missing menus link had the info I needed:  I ran "winword.exe
/a" (with nothing in the startup folder and no normal.dot) and got my
Standard toolbar back.

Note, you do _not_ want to be running Word that way all the time. Was your
problem fixed the next time you started up simply double-clicking on a
document?

The problem was fixed "permanently" (unti lthe next time I reckon ;-) ) --
after I ran winword.exe /a, I closed Word, rebooted and reopened Word and the
Standard toolbar was still there.

To clarify, when I reopened Word after rebooting, I double clicked.
