I am using Word 2003. I  dont want Task Pane from appear at all.
I have a template that give restricted acess to users but with the  access
to Task Pane users are able do lot things that they are not supposed to do.
Whenever they press F1 key for help, Task Pane opens and gives them access to
the following Task Pane menus and this is basically breaking our
customization.

Task Pane Menus
Getting Started
Help
Search Results
Clip Art
New Document
Shared Workspace
Document Updates
Protect Document
Styles and Formatting
Reveal Formatting
Mail Merge
XML Structure

I'm sure there are other ways they can 'break' it too. Live with it!

Word provides a customizable interface for USERS to customize their
environments. It does not provide facilities for administrators to  lock
things down. If you don't want your users using the facilities of Word don't
give them Word. If they do need the facilities then train them to (a) use
them properly and (b) follow your company standards
