How can I generate the scrolling feature in a cell contained in a table or a
simple text box (available from the drawing toolbar)?
I intend to create a form in Microsoft Word to solicit information from my
users. In the past I have used the ActiveX text box (available from the
controlbox toolbar) to achieve this. Other than the obvious advantage of
being able to extract information programmatically I liked the feature
where, when the text filled up the visible area in the textbox, a scroll bar
would appear and the previously typed text would scroll off the visible
area.
As you might know, the presence of an ActiveX textbox triggers the macro
security box causing the enable/disable macro box to pop up when the
document is opened. Other disadvantages of using the ActiveX textbox is the
unavailability to spell check, use bullets, etc. I could use a simple table
where users click on one of its cells and enters information but I don't
know how to incorporate the scrolling feature in the cell (If I don't
incorporate it, the table expands to accommodate the overflowing text).
How can I generate the scrolling feature in a cell contained in a table or a
simple text box (available from the drawing toolbar)? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

G'day "SS" <srikesh@hotpop.com>,
Umm, a UserForm does not contain cells so therefore this does not make
any sense to me I'm sorry :-(

There's no way to do this in Word, and any possible workaround would certainly
involve macros, putting you right back where you started...
