When you say "fill-in form" are you talking about a userform which is a
custom dialog box? Or, are you talking about an Outlook form?
Something else? I am assuming Outlook 2002 as well, if wrong, say so.
I am posting this to the outlook.program_vba newsgroup as well because I
suspect you'll get a better answer there.

Sorry Charles:
It is a 2002 Word doc using tables and a text box form fields. I have the
AutoNew in this document to turn on the "envelope" for email. I copy it to
an Outlook 2002 Exchange folder. It does seem to be the Public Folder that
disables the auto macro.

I don't know enough about Outlook to be of help. I simply forwarded your
question to a group that I thought might know more.

AutoNew won't fire because you're never creating a new document if you're opening a "freedoc" from a public folder.
