Place the cursor anywhere within the TOC and hit F9 to update it.
Or, it should update automatically before printing (Unless you have
deactivated field updating in the Print options).

Try to clear the "Allow starting in Reading Layout" option on the
General tab of Tools>Options. Does that help?
