My resume was saved as a Template, Microsoft 2003. However, when I try to
send or up-load my resume for different job posting via intranet... It will
not work... I always get an error and everyones websites will not take the
Template. I love the Template because it looks REALLY nice... So, I have
TRIED and tried to save as a word document, Word 97-2003 & 6.0/95-PTF, or
Wrk 6.0 & 7.0... No matter what I try to save this under, it saves as a DOC
file and also saves under Word Pad.... Plus it looks horrible and all
un-even, the tables don't read and merge over... I am stuck and nobody seems
to understand... Also, how can I get rid of all my documents saving as word
pad? That is a main reason why I picked the template....

If double-clicking Word documents in Windows Explorer opens them in
WordPad, then your file associations are incorrect. See the following
article for instructions on how to run Word with the /r switch to
restore the association between Word documents and Word:

Wordpad is not as rich a tool as Word. Try opening Word, and from
inside of Word, select File, New. Browse out to your template, and
open it. That should open a new Word document, which you can save.

Use Windows explorer to delete out all your extra copies.

However, just a separate word about your resume. Many companies will
take your resume and convert it to Text to upload into their systems.
In which case, all your fancy formatting gets lost. Therefore, I
would us a resume that looks nice in text to use to send it
electronic, and save the fancy formatting for sending the resume
printed on nice bond paper.
