I would like to divide a word document into four quadrants that operate
indedpendently when I work within each one of them. Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Create a table with two rows and two columns. Set the rows to a fixed
height. Then you can type independently into each table cell without it
affecting the position of the text in any other cell.
