I've added a customized tool bar to Word 2003 (SP1) and when I close out of
the program and re-open at a later time, the toolbar is gone.  I've not quite
figured out why this happens...suggestions?

Hi Karen,

Check whether you can still find your toolbar under View | Toolbars >, and,
if not, under View | Toolbars > Customize... | tab Toolbars.

If the toolbar is still unavailable, perhaps you have saved it in a document
or document template. Try to remember what you had open in Word at the time
you created the toolbar (File | 1 ... 9 may help) and check whether any of
those documents by accident contains the toolbar.

Good luck,
Cooz

While these are possibilities, the most likely problem is Adobe Acrobat
version 7. It blocks the saving of changes to normal.dot.

Cooz
I didn't have any document open when I created the toolbar.  AFter I was
done creating it, I moved it up under the the File Edit, etc.,
toolbar...whenever I close out of the program and shut down, when I bring it
all back up, it's gone.
next suggestion?  Anything you can suggest is greatly appreciated!
Karen

From the FAQ:

28. I can't save my customizations - AutoText, menus, etc.
   Can't save normal.dot...
If you have Adobe Acrobat 7 installed see the last section of
   http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm.
Otherwise, hold down the Shift key when selecting the File
   menu and select Save All.
