I've been trying to do this using the Kill statement.  The problem is that
if the document is still open, I can't delete the old one.  If I try closing
the document then reopening it, my macro stops.

Any ideas?

Thank you
Suzette

Never mind.  I found a way to do it.  I added a blank document, closed the
document, killed the old name, reopened the document, then closed the blank
document.
