This really isn't a visual basic for applications (vba) question.
You should not be pressing Enter at the end of each line. Enter is for the
end of paragraphs. Paragraphs start with new sentences, which normally start
with capital letters. See
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/concepts/introduction/index.html.
You can turn off the AutoCorrect > AutoFormat as you type option to
capitalize the beginning of each sentence if you want, but you will be far
better off learning to use Word as a word processing program rather than as
a typewriter. Also, anytime AutoCorrect does something you don't like, you
can press Ctrl-Z and undo it. This is the technique most use for features
that are usually but not always helpful.

I'm sorry you misinterpreted my question so badly let me attempt to restate
it:
When one creates a new document and starts to type a sentence, by default if
the first word isn't capitalized, auto correct automatically fixes the
grammatical error for you. I don't want it to.
Thanks for reminding me sentences start with capital letters though, I'd
forgotten that.
I want to change my default settings (on all new documents created) so this
feature of auto correct is automatically disabled.

I am also surprised at the question.
Normally, if you pull the Tools/Autocorrect menu then in the
Autocorrect dialog box you uncheck the relevant checkbox (it should
read something like "Capitalize first word in a sentence" - sorry, I'm
not on an English Ms-Word here) then that should be enough. Ms-Word
will "remember" this setting because Normal.dot will be saved together
with the changes the nex time you exit Word.
Doesn't it work this way on your machine?

1. Go to the Tools menu in Word.
2. Go to AutoCorrect Options... This will open a dialog box with tabs along
the top.
3. Click on the tab for AutoCorrect this dialog box. (It should already be
showing, but one never knows.)
4. Uncheck "Capitalize first letter of sentences."
This will turn the option off in Word (and other Office applications, I
believe). It will be off for existing documents as well as new documents.
