create a macro in word

I have recently installed the brand new office 2007 and i have got no idea
how to record the macros i can run them by pressing the alt+f8 keys but then
i get a bit stuk on the recording bit. this is what i want the macro to do
for me: I want the macro to open another word document up when the macro is
run. I can do this in the previous version of office but i am a complete
begginner when it comes down to office 2007. Please please pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaze
help.

Click on the round orange button on the status bar at the bottom of the
screen to record a macro.

I suggest that you learn how to write visual basic code rather than try and
rely on the macro recorder.
