Someone in our office cannot record macros stored in a network share, even
though they have full control permissions to the location.  What am I missing?

How can one record macros that are stored on a network?
If they are stored on a network they already have been recorded...!
What am I missing?

Do you mean that the document in which they are trying to record the macros
is on a network?
Can you describe what this person is actually doing (What document are
opened, what options are chosen prior to starting the recoding? etc.)

Basically, I am just wondering what special permissions people need to record
macros? When I make the user an admin, he can do it.  But when he has
standard user permissions, he cannot.  Thank you again.

I do not think that network permissions have anything to do with recording
macros in Word (at least, I have never seen a causal relationship).

But I must confess I have never tried recoding macros on a standard user
Windows account (Is this what you are writing about? Or are you writing
about network permissions?)

What versions of WIndows/Office?
Are nework persmissions also involved?

Are you stating that the user cannot even record macros? How is this denial
signified (The Record macros button is greyed out, you can start recording
but nothing gets written in the project, ???)
