Basically, I am just wondering what special permissions people need to record
macros? When I make the user an admin, he can do it. But when he has
standard user permissions, he cannot. Thank you again.

I do not think that network permissions have anything to do with recording
macros in Word (at least, I have never seen a causal relationship).
But I must confess I have never tried recoding macros on a standard user
Windows account (Is this what you are writing about? Or are you writing
about network permissions?)
What versions of WIndows/Office?
Are nework persmissions also involved?
Are you stating that the user cannot even record macros? How is this denial
signified (The Record macros button is greyed out, you can start recording
but nothing gets written in the project, ???)
