Still using Word 97 unfortunately.

Can somone assist me with some code which automates the whole process of
creating a mail merge with from an existing document without calling the
mailmerge helper?

I have a excel file for the data source(lets say C\:TEMP\Mailmerge.xls with
column A as the only field - A1 NAME, A2 Mark etc), what I am after is so the
mail merged document is created on screen.

Hope I've explained myself

Still missing some details... Do you mean you want to open a document, attach
the data source, then execute the mail merge? Or something else? Have you tried
recording the steps you need in a macro? In what way was this not sufficient?
